andy-harvey

Andy Harvey

Managing Director, Climber

Andy started Arborist Tree Care in 2006, after working as a tree surgeon for Sheffield City Council. Andy started with just a few pieces of equipment and a lot of determination and drive. He’s worked very hard to develop the company to what it is today, a really strong, focussed team of Arborist’s caring for Sheffield’s trees!

Although Andy is the boss, he can still often be found up a tree getting stuck in. Outside of work Andy has lots of interests mainly centred around adventure sports. He spends our quieter periods travelling the world to far and remote beautiful places in pursuit of adventures. His interests include: Rock climbing, mountain biking, surfing, snowboarding & paragliding.

dave-farmer

Dave Farmer

Manager, Climber, Groundsman

Dave joined Arborist Tree Care over 5 years ago as an apprentice having made a career (& lifestyle) change from corporate office work. Dave quickly qualified and has steadily worked his way up in the business. Having gained years of extensive practical experience he now spends most of his time managing the day to day running of the company. Through extensive on-going study (towards a second degree in Arboriculture) Dave is well on the way to becoming an Arb. Consultant and regularly carries out in-depth tree surveys.

When he’s not working with or learning about trees, he likes mountain biking, motorbiking and tinkering with his classic car.

huenuman-coloma

Huenuman Coloma (AKA Wennas)

Lead Climber

As far as we know Wennas has been climbing trees since before he could walk! He’s a very knowledgeable and highly skilled tree worker with lots of qualifications and experience under his belt, having worked throughout the UK and Europe.

In his spare time Wennas travels the UK attending Capoeira events, rock climbing and digging up potatoes in his allotment.

James-Appleby

James Appleby

Apprentice Climber, Groundsman

James joined our team after doing work experience with us and deciding this is the career he wants to pursue. Having proved his abilities to work hard and efficiently with the right attitude, we decided to take him on as a full-time employee under an apprenticeship scheme of which he is excelling in all fields. James works daily under Wennas, Dave & Andy’s leadership, absorbing the many years of experience they have and getting as much practical climbing experience as possible when  opportunities allow. We hope that James will have bright future in the Arborist Tree Care team.

Outside of work James enjoys riding his motorbike, seeing friends and taking in all Sheffield has to offer.

chris-pocock

Chris Pocock

Groundsman, Tractor, Unimog & Heavy Machinery Operator

Chris has come from a background in farming so has a strong, hardworking philosophy and won’t rest until the job is done. As well as being a good groundsman he operates some of the larger machinery and gets stuck in wherever needed.

When he’s not working with the ATC team, Chris spends the majority of his time co running Totley Hall Farm. He can be found in the seat of his tractor pretty much any time day or night, whether it be cutting & bailing through the summer harvest or gritting & snow ploughing through the onslaught of winter, and always with a smile on his face! On the rare occasion that he takes time off Chris enjoys road cycling in the Peak District, Walking the coastal paths of Dartmoor with his wife and sampling the finest of The Sheaf’s selection of ales!

Jess-Beattie

Jess Beattie

Climber, Groundsman

Jess is another hard working addition to our team, who understands how we like to work and is keen for getting stuck in and getting the job done well! Jess made the decision to put himself through his practical tree surgery qualifications as a natural progression from his love of Rock Climbing. His calm demeanour is just whats needed when working high in the tops of trees, especially on the top of one of Sheffields hills where the exposure can be surprising for even the bravest climbers!

Outside of work Jess enjoys bouldering at the Climbing Works and when the weathers good you can usually find him walking ‘Mila’ his Dachshund and Rock Climbing along the many gritstone edges of the Peak District.

Richard-Chew

Richard Chew

Mechanic

Richard has worked alongside Arborist Tree Care from the word ‘go’! Over the years he has pretty much single-handedly rebuilt and modified our entire fleet of vehicles and machinery to ensure we stay ahead of the game! Richard has the brain of an engineer with the hands-on experience of a mechanic and can turn his hand to just about anything! You can rely on him to approach and execute an operation in a logical, methodical manner – a useful edition to most situations! We are very grateful to have him onboard, not only with his vast knowledge and experience of everything mechanical, but also as he occasionally steps into the team as an additional groundsman. Rich helps to keep us up and running when we are busy and keeps our (many) different engines sounding sweet!

In his spare time you are likely to find him making bespoke adaptions to one of his own vehicles, whether its to meet the ultimate 4×4 challenge or to perform on the track. When he’s done in the workshop Rich enjoys mountain biking in the Peak District and sailing the Welsh coastline (and beyond!)
